Sound design
We decided to have a OMI - Cheerleader sort of instrumental in the background when the girl is getting ready as it sets a happy, jolly mood.
On the other hand, once the male character is first seen/introduced, there are crickets in the background. This will provide a comedy effect as there is a big contrast to happy music to no music. Crickets are usually used at awkward times of silences as well so the audience will be clear of our intentions.
There will also be little sounds that will have an affect such as sound of the boy falling over while getting dressed. This will create a bigger impact to the audience. There will also be the sound of him peeing, brushing his teeth, pouring cereal in his bowl as during his scenes there will be no music so there has to be a lot of other sounds to fill the void.
We got the idea of having happy music from our research. We were heavily influenced by 'Legally Blonde' which also involves a lot pink and has a girl getting ready.
