1. Which 3 genres were most successful at the UK box office?
= Comedy, Action and Animation were most successful.

2. Which 3 genres were least popular or successful at the UK box office?
= Romance, Documentary and war were the least popular and successful.

3.Which film genre had the most film released in 2013-2014?
= Comedy had the most film released in 2013-14

4. How many films in this genre were made in 2013-14?
= 153 comedy films were released in 2013-14

5. How many animated films were made?
= 33 animated films were made.

6. How many action films were made?
= 47 action films were made.

7. what does this information about genre tell you:
Film production? That the biggest genres are making the most films.
Film audiences? That films are mainly released to attract the younger generation.

1. Which age group made up the largest proportion of cinema admissions in the UK( who went to the cinema the most)
= The age group that went to the cinema the most is 15-24

2. Which comedy film was most successful with this age group?
= The hangover part 3, Kick ass 2 and Fast and furious 6 was the most successful with the 15-24 age group.

3. Which film was most popular with the over 50s?
= Quartet, Philomena and Les miserables were the films that were most popular with the over 50s.

4. Which genres were most popular with men?
= Thriller, Action and Comedy films were most popular with men.

5. Which genre is most popular with women?
= One direction and frozen were most popular with women.

6. UK films appealed most to which audience type?
= UK films appealed most to Females.

7. Which 3 films were most popular with the 7-14 age group? What does this tell us about their preferred genre?
= One direction( This is us), Wreck it Ralph and despicable me 2 were the films that were most popular in the 7-14 age group. This tells us that they like animation films the most.

8. The 3 most popular films with the 35-44 age group were Frozen, The Croods and Jack and the giant slayer. Why might this be how does this contribute to animation being the most successful genre at the box office?
= The reason why I think that those films are popular in that age group is because the people whore between 35-44 are parents and they might take their kids to watch these type of films and that also increases the view count on the amount of elders who watch these films aswell.

9. Which 3 films were most popular with the 25-34 age group?
= Django Unchained, Fast and furious 6, Rush and trance were the films that were most popular in the 25-34 age group

10. Which films were most successful with middle class audiences( C1-C2)?
= Western Django Unchained, Fast and Furious 6, rush and trance were most popular in the middle class audiences.

11. look at the tables for popular films in London and Scotland. What differences are there and what conclusions can you make about the types of films they appear to prefer?
= Most popular films in London:
Django Unchained - 31% of audience group - Western, drama, adventure and black comedy.
Fast and Furious 6 - 30% of audience group - Action, thriller, adventure and crime
Gravity - 28% of audience group - Thriller and drama

= Most popular films in Scotland:
Sunshine on leith: 32% of audience group - Musical, comedy, romance and drama.
Filth: 32% of audience group - Drama, comedy, thriller and crime fiction.
Star Trek into Darkness: 14% of audience group - Action, Sci-Fi and adventure.

Both regions have a variety of genre preferences, despite different promotion and advertisement methods in regions. The genre preference depends purely on the individual and their own interests.
