Purpose of title sequence.
A title sequence is the method by which films or television programs present their title, key production and cast members. It is placed at the beginning of the movie with the production companies and ident. A title sequence helps viewer by giving a hint of the genre of the movie7 a sense of what the movie is going to be about. It creates the mood and the atmosphere and sets the attitude for the audience. A title sequence reflects back to what the movie is going to be about and illustrates the storyline with establishing shots with images related to the plot. characters( most actors only choose on type of movie genre to act in)= giving a hint of the genre. Soundtrack which sets the mood and atmosphere to the scene creating affect on audience. Narrative which dives straight into the content of the movie revealing what it is based on. Setting sets the genre for example an abandon house will be in between horror or thriller. All these help investigate the audience to what type of movie it is.
There will be a range of establishing shots and establishing genre with shot lengths and relevant images which set the mood but not immediate of the narrative because moving images are used to illustrate the genre of the movie rather than a voice over or narrative.
