22 jump street starts off with the storyline. it starts off with a flashback to what happened to give an idea to the audience and for them not to forget what happened. It shows how the bond between the main characters are formed, this is how the main characters are introduced (by showing the audience what has already happened) this explains why the characters are in that certain situation. on a black background the title is shown with colours blue and red symbolising that they are cops and hinting the genre that it is action to the audience. the upbeat soundtrack shows that it is full of action, movement and rush. this also gives a hint of the genre not only being action by also being comedy.
This makes the movie more exciting, by adding comedy it completely changes the atmosphere.
